Decentralized network for innovation and growth

The SmartHoldem Level 1 Public Network (DPOS) is an open-source blockchain based on the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism. It allows users to create and access various decentralized tools, applications, and ecosystems.

SmartHoldem is decentralized and governed by a community of digital asset owners. Ownership of more than 1 STH grants voting rights on the network!

DPoS is an environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and scalable consensus that offers faster and more affordable transactions compared to PoS and PoW networks.

delegate proof of stake consensus protocol

Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus is founded on democratic principles. It grants the community the right to participate in the decision-making processes that determine the network's development.

Delegates

Delegates are responsible for securing the blockchain network. They verify transactions, create new blocks, and protect the SmartHoldem network. In return for each signed block, delegates receive rewards. Delegates cannot alter information about blockchain transactions or influence them.

Delegates are elected by users who vote with their digital assets. Elected delegates represent SmartHoldem coin holders by proposing ideas or changes to the network and contributing to the ecosystem's improvement.

Users vote for a delegate with the power of their vote. This approach eliminates the need for users to freeze coins and send coins to any address. The coins remain on the user’s balance and under his complete control. Each STH holder can vote, elect, or cancel delegates.

In SmartHoldem DPOS, only 21 active delegates can be in the TOP https://blockexplorer.smartholdem.io/#/delegate-monitor, other registered delegates are in relay node mode.

The delegation system is highly competitive, as a delegate can move into or out of the top TOP 21 position at any time. If the community feels that a delegate is not doing a good job or someone else could do a better job, the delegate can be replaced.

This sustainable scheme provides an opportunity for new delegates to prove themselves, attract the community's attention, and enter the TOP 21 at any time if the community votes for a new delegate to take an active position.

Delegate Rewards

The delegate who signs the block receives ALL FEES for the transactions included in the block. Various transactions have their own fee in the SmartHoldem blockchain. For example, if a block includes 500 standard transactions, the delegate will earn up to 500 STH. If there were no transactions in a block, the delegate will not earn anything for that block. If the block includes a delegate registration transaction, the delegate will earn 10,000 STH.

- There is no emission in the SmartHoldem Level 1 (DPOS) blockchain. Find out more. There are no additional rewards other than transaction fees.

SmartHoldem's DPoS blockchain includes new transaction types such as multi-payments, gaming transactions, multi-signatures, crypto-signatures, second passphrase, burn transactions, registration transactions, IPFS hash transactions, hashed time-locked contract (HTLC), advanced cryptofunction protocol with ZKP (Zero-Knowledge Proof), resignation of the delegate and registration of copyright.

Become a SmartHoldem delegate

Anyone can become a SmartHoldem delegate.

All you need is a reliable server and active participation in the SmartHoldem community. However, only delegates among the top 21 can create new blocks and receive rewards in SmartHoldem STH.

Getting started with SmartHoldem is simple, with step-by-step guides and community support for everyone from all technical backgrounds.

Community Connection

As a delegate, active participation and connection to the community is vital to getting votes.

Generating delegate slots is competitive and requires more than node management. Building new applications based on SmartHoldem and offering additional services such as code reviews, vulnerability reporting, or community outreach can make the difference between an up or down vote.

As a delegate, you can offer voters a percentage of the rewards to get the necessary votes to reach the TOP 21. Reward is measured based on the voter's participation share and the delegate's payout percentage.
